Don't do housework without planning.

So, I decided to do some housework last week. I have some ugly poured cement retaining walls on either side of my driveway. It sounded as if it would be an easy task to tear down! I took a few whacks at it with a sledgehammer, and it began to break down. No problem!
Well, now I have a huge mess on my hands. Near the bottom of the walls, the cement was so thick that it's unbreakable, without use of some heavy equipment. I'd already ordered some blocks that I had intended to use to replace the retaining walls, and they have been delivered. I expected this to be a $200 project. I've already spent $160 on the bricks, $40 on some Misc stuff from menards (Gorilla bar, Gloves, pipe extension, etc). I'd also dropped $50 to rent an electric 60lb jackhammer, which didn't do shit.
So, now I have to hire a contractor to come in and remove the walls with a Bobcat, Jackhammer, or whatever the hell they use. Also, the cement for the retaining walls is poured and is a part of a slab that is underneath the blacktop on the driveway. No, I didn't know this in advance, further evidence that this is/was a bad idea.
So, I now intend to hire someone to rip out the whole thing, driveway included, and pour cement. $2000, see ya later!
